Mexico and Colombia continue to consolidate a strategic alliance that transcends borders and projects a focus on permanent transformation. Within the framework of the LX International Course of Radiology and Imaging, held from February 5-7 in Mexico City, the representative of the Colombian Association of Radiology, Dr. MartÃn Renjifo Duque, led his organization's institutional presence. He emphasized that Latin American cooperation is not a future aspiration but a current and necessary strategy for strengthening regional science. Dr. Renjifo Duke called on Latin America not to remain a passive spectator of global technological development. He believes that artificial intelligence can free up time to strengthen clinical ties. The specialist highly praised the logistics and academic level of the event in Mexico, noting its excellence in neurodiagnostics and organizational learning. He also officially invited attendees to the International Congress of Radiology of the ACR, to be held from May 14-16 in Cartagena, Colombia. Dr. Renjifo Duque dismissed the idea of radiology disappearing due to algorithmic advancement, stating that the specialty will transform rather than vanish. He envisions a future for radiology as more integrated into clinical practice, with greater involvement in therapeutic decisions and less isolation from the patient. In education, the association promotes programs for residents, facilitates their academic integration, and develops community initiatives. However, one challenge is to bring radiology closer to the general practitioner from early stages of training. Dr. Renjifo Duque stressed that artificial intelligence is the axis of change, not a replacement for specialists, but a tool that improves diagnostic accuracy and optimizes professional practice. He concluded that Latin American radiology is built not in isolation, but in community.
